I’m Florence Quisaba Lozano and I’ve been in the company for 12 years. As the head teacher, management in both students and teachers is my main responsibility. In terms of students, I make their schedules, administer test simulations and qualifying test, give assessments on their academic performance, and counselling. For the teachers, i manage their schedule, conduct class observations, monitor their quarterly mock test performance, preside meetings, give TOEFL, IELTS,TOEIC, and lesson methodologies trainings for new teachers and the old ones. Currently I am also the test coordinator, my main task together with the course leaders is to head the application process of test takers and to coordinate with the test providers (IDP for IELTS and HOPKINS for TOEIC and TOEFL). Schedule of new students from the placement to class assignment
There are two ways from which student assessment for admission is administered. Firstly, ESL students from Longlong or Clark will have to take the halt test. To qualify for Martins, students must acquire at least 60% of the total score (500). Second, for students outside of school, a telephone interview is administered; the passing score for the interview must be at least 60% as well. Qualified students must choose their specific course. For ESL course, students need not to take any placement, however, they are still ranked in 3 different levels necessary for their group classes based on their admission test. On the other hand, Test course students must undergo a placement test specifically akin to the course they have chosen. From such test, they can be placed in their appropriate groups and also their test result (level) is used in their individual classes as a basis for teachers in their approach and methodology.
The students in martins basically have 1 group class and 4 classes. Any student may opt to have more than 4 individual class.
Schedule changing procedures
In terms of schedule, to change is sometimes inevitable especially that students’ satisfaction is our utmost concern. When students have a problem with one of his or her teachers, there is a consideration for a change. However, before it is done, the head teacher must talk to the student concerned then class observation follows. The result of the observation is deliberated among other leaders in the team. Finally, the severity of the issue justifies the changed of teacher.
Students schedule may also be changed when students have some health issues. e.g. insomnia

Business Communication (Business English)
Business English is English language especially related to international trade. It is a part of English for Specific Purposes and can be considered a special study within English language learning and teaching. Many non-native English speakers study the subject with the goal of doing business with English-speaking countries, or with companies located in smaller English speaking countries. Much of the English communication that takes place within business circles all over the world occurs between non-native speakers. In cases such as these, the object of the exercise is efficient and effective communication. The Philippines was named the world’s best country in business English proficiency.
The Business course is a 4-12 weeks course, is very suitable for students preparing for a working holiday.
Morning Classes (MRC/MLC)
The student can choose the MLC (Morning Listening Class) depending on his/her interest and learning goals.
In mid-high level students without looking at the teaching material while listening to the audio file, they practice shadowing while mimicking one beat later while only listening to the audio file.
CNN
CNN is what ESL students mainly choose. After listening to the broadcast dictation they will practice Shadowing along with the teacher. Broadcasting is somewhat short but the speed is fast.
BBC
Shadowing practice along with the teacher after listening to the BBC broadcast dictation. Many IELTS students choose this to familiarize themselves with the British accent and pronunciation.
TOEIC
Shadowing practice along with the teacher after listening to dictation of the TOEIC listening files. Mostly TOEIC, TOEIC Speaking and Business English course students choose this.
NPR
Students practice shadowing with the teacher after listening to the dictation from the US public radio (National Public Radio) broadcast. The texts are longer than CNN and BBC but the speed will is slower.
AMRC
AMRC, an abbreviation for American Morning Reading Class, will practice fast reading and use scripts that are used in airlines
Compared to the other MLC class, it is characterized by the length of the script which is long, and students who prepare for employment in airline companies prefer this.
TOEFL
Students do shadowing with the teacher after listening to dictations based on TOEFL listening files. It will help the students to prepare all domains of TOEFL.
JMLC
JMLC, an abbreviation for Japanese Morning Listening Class, is a MLC class for Japanese students. Students practice shadowing along with a teacher after the dictation based on CNN materials.
Special Classes
Like in Longlong Campus, HELP Martins Campus offers a wide-range of special classes for students across levels. There are classes taught both by Managers and some of our best Filipino teaching staff. Students may opt to take either 1 or 2 special classes, which usually begins at 5:00 pm. There are academic classes, such as Listening Class Grammar Class, and Debate. To balance things off, there are also non-academic classes such as Guitar Class and Dance Class. We try to offer as much variation as possible by adding new classes every 2 programs or so.

Manager Haru
“For over three months, since last July, I have been in this academy as a student manager. From my perspective, this academy truly provides nice opportunities to study English. Apparently, there were several doubts in my mind when I was a student. But to think back those days, they turned to be right. To be specific, attending MRC class from 7am gives students heavy stress actually, weekend mock tests are too frequent to judge our improvements, and unstable internet connections caused us discomfort. However after overcoming or going through their days here, students gradually realize that all work out have the other aspects. To illustrate soaking ourselves in English “form” early in the morning greatly helps us speak naturally, being accustomed the test style is one of the effective ways of attaining high scores, and it’s difficult to find the place where you can focus on your learning without any distractions such as the internet…
As a manager, I’d be happy to help them out from their difficult situations since I know how they feel the pains even though consulting takes much time for everyone. I’ll treat them with everything I’ve gotten, so let me take care of your precious customers here in Martin’s campus HELP academy. I really appreciate your every cooperation.”
