Course Overview

This course is for all English non-speakers who range from low beginners to advanced students. Individualized and group classes are formulated to prepare them for real-life survival and supremacy in our globalized English world.

Students will learn and be equipped with Basic English to attain their need for their studies, profession, travels or even immigration purposes.

Course requirements

  1. Entry Requirements

Students who are under this course should be at least knowledgeable about the four Basic English skills especially with common vocabularies and expressions.

  1. Study Requirements

ESL students are required to attend and participate actively in their classes regularly. They are required to do their homework diligently. Review their Correction Notes for further clarification and familiarization. Take the Monthly Level Test which takes place every third week of the Group Class program.

Teaching Philosophy

Teachers are trained and equipped with competencies developed inthe constant training and supervision of the Trainers (Pronunciation, Grammar and Vocabularies). Teachers have their own specialized skills but also they can also teach the other macro skills. Buddy System is also profitable whenever teachers wanted to share their teaching strategies to each other.

INTENSIVE ESL T.GRACE

Course Overview

This course is intended for non-English speakers who want to achieve proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, writing, pronunciation, and grammar.The main goal of this course is to let them become fully-proficient in English at the end of the program. Thus, students who are enrolled in this course will undergo thorough English exposure with the full assistance of competent teachers.

Students who want to enroll in this course should at least have knowledge of the Basic English words and the ability to understand and answer common questions.

The students enrolled in this course are expected to:1. Attendall one to one and group classes regularly or maintain at least 90% of the total attendance.2. Participate actively in every class activity.3. Take the monthly level test in speaking, reading, listening, and writing.

At the end of the program, the students are expected to demonstrate very satisfactory skill in speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and pronunciation.

Teaching Philosophy

In line with the goal of this course to help students achieve English proficiency, only teacherswith passion and expertise in English are hired. These teachers are required to undergo intensive training in speaking, listening, reading, and writing for a reasonable period of time before teaching students. To achieve mastery in teaching, they are also given comprehensive trainings on Teaching strategies and Methodologies.To maintain quality assurance, theyrequired to take the EPT (English Proficiency Test) every month for evaluation.

Course Overview

The Speaking Intensive Course ranges from structuring simple phrases to automatic English speaking.  The course synthesizes basic skill development for speaking and grammar application.  Important features are practice-based exercises designed to equip the students with needed speaking skills.

IELTS Preparation Course students are expected to:

  1. attend their classes regularly and maintain a 90% to 100% attendance in their 1:1 and group classes.
  2. participate in all class activities and submit homework for both 1:1 and group classes.
  3. take the weekly speaking prescription test.
  1. Learning outcome:

The main emphasis of this course in on practical communication while building up vocabulary and helping to develop fluency, coherence and confidence.

Teaching Philosophy

SI teachers underwent a rigorous SI training are equipped with competencies developed through constant training and supervision of the Coordinators in coordination with the HR Department.  BECI teachers undergo a training program before being assigned a student to strengthen their current competencies and to introduce them to emerging trends in teaching foreign learners.  To maintain the quality of teaching, BECI teachers are subjected to a monthly evaluation and to a monthly English Proficiency Test.

Course Overview

TOEIC is a standardized test that measures someone’s listening and reading skills. It evaluates a person’s ability to function in international business and real-world settings rather that in an academic setting.

Course Description

This course focuses both on thoroughly familiarizing students with the format, level, and content of the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) and on teaching students strategies for both sections of the examination. Each lesson is organized so that it develops and enhances all skills and sub-skills necessary for the different parts of the test.

  1. Entry Requriements

This course is basically for all students who wish to demonstrate English proficiency when applying for new positions or when preparing to enter a workplace.

  1. STUDY REQUIREMENTS

Students who enrolled in this course are required to attend all 4 man to man TOEIC classes and two ESL group classes. Also, students are required to take TOEIC mock test twice a week. They are also expected to at least have a 20-point score increase in every mock test. Review of each mock test is done the day after each mock test.

  1. LEARNING OUTCOME

In general, this course aims:

1. To familiarize students with the format and timing of the TOEIC test.

2. To develop students’ 4 macro skills

3. To develop students’ test taking strategies and techniques and achieve their target score

4. To help students revise important grammar structures and functions tested in the TOEIC

Teaching Philiosophy

Teachers in this course make it sure that they are well-equipped in teaching each lesson. Trainings, class observations, and mock test every month is done to ensure their skill and ability in teaching. At least 4 teachers took their official exam and attained a score higher than 900. 

Recommended study duration

To ensure maximum benefit for students, they are recommended to have at least 2 months of study. For first timers, 3 months is best recommended.

Course Overview

The IELTS Preparation Course is an integrated course that ranges from basic Macroskill development to strategies in Test Taking.  The course synthesizes basic skill development for listening, reading, writing and speaking to promote both the acquisition of fundamental knowledge and the development of test-taking skills.

In general, this course aims: 1. to develop the student’s understanding of the IELTS;  2. to develop the student’s communication skills, that is to listen, read, write, and speak effectively and with confidence; 3. to develop the student’s critical thinking; 4. to use language to interact and communicate with individuals and communities for personal or professional growth. 5. To achieve the student’s required IELTS Band.

IV.        Teaching Philosophy

The core faculty of the IELTS Preparation Course have undertaken the IELTS and are trained to teach it.  The supplemental faculty of this course all have extensive training and are equipped with competencies developed through constant training and supervision of the Coordinators in coordination with the HR Department. 

V.         Recommended study duration :

The shortest duration that we recommend for taking the IELTS Preparation Course is 12 weeks; however, for maximum result, the recommended study should be 12 weeks of ESL plus 12 weeks of IELTS preparation Course, this way, the student does not waste any time in the IELTS preparation course reviewing the basic English skills upon entering the IELTS preparation course.

Course requirements
I.  Entry Requirements:

Students enrolled in the Sparta Program must take the entry level tests and follow the institute’s policies and the department policies and guidelines. Failure tocomply with thedepartment policies would be equal to a number of points with corresponding punishments. Therefor students are required to be attentive with:

  1. ATTENDANCE (regular class/self-study time)

Students are expected to attend class and arrive on time (95% attendance).

  1. EXAMINATION

Students must take all examinations set by the institute.

It is a must for students to use only English in the institute for their own advantage.

.  Learning outcome:

Sparta program in BECI aims for students to learn the English Language in a Sparta setting the fastest possible time, so, a Sparta student is given six individual classes and one group class during the day and four group classes at night targeting the four macro skills, which aims to enhance the student’s English skill in a short period of time or 3 months duration. Materials are taught using the Communicative Learning Technique (CLT). The CLT approach would force the students to speak or participate 70% of the time in class whatever the subject may be. This would enable the students to not just learn the language but acquire the language as well for this is the number one aim of the department.

Teaching Philosophy

In order to foster learning, Free Curriculum Training is given to Teachers in this department (curriculum material is timely and relevant). Because teachers and curriculum is the core in the success in imparting knowledge to students the institute caters to continuous updating of the learning materials and continuous support training in Grammar and Pronunciation for teachers. It is a must for every teacher in the department to know the proper way of profiling students.  Knowing each student’s learning style makes learning conducive and effective for both the teacher and the student, so profiling technique training is also given to teachers. Teachers must be motivating and have passion in teaching because one of the best ways to foster learning is to demonstrate those feelings to students. Encourage learning by creating a relaxed environment for students, stimulating conversation about concepts being presented and organizing materials in a way that makes it easiest to understand.
