Sinulog theo tiếng địa phương có nghĩa là dòng chảy. Đây là lễ hội nhảy múa mang nét văn hóa vô cùng đặc sắc, nổi tiếng tại Philippines. Lễ hội được diễn ra vào ngày chủ nhật thứ 3 của tháng 1 hàng năm. Đây là một lễ hội tôn giáo nhằm kỷ niệm những mốc lịch sử quan trọng trong tôn giáo của người dân Philippines.
Sinulog vốn dĩ là một nghi thức biểu diễn nhảy múa nhằm vinh danh về sự kỳ diệu của Santo Nino – Chúa Giê-su Hài Đồng trước những năm 1980. Sau này được mở rộng hóa thành một lễ hội độc đáo. Sinulog không chỉ với ý nghĩa là tưởng nhớ đến Chúa Giê-su Hài Đồng mà mang tính liên kết giữa quá khứ và hiện tại của 2 tôn giáo đó là Tôn giáo truyền thống và Thiên Chúa giáo.
Để đón chào lễ hội Sinulog độc đáo, người dân Philippines đã phải kỳ công chuẩn bị những bộ trang phục truyền thống vô cùng ấn tượng. Tại các trung tâm thương mại cũng xuất hiện hàng loạt các dịch vụ cho thuê đồ lễ hội cũng như các thứ để trang trí nhà cửa. Du khách có thể đến xem và chọn mua cho mình những bộ trang phục truyền thống độc đáo nhất.

Lễ hội Sinulog đã diễn ra với màu sắc rực rỡ, không khí náo nhiệt được diễn ra trong vòng 9 ngày.

Thêm một lưu ý nhỏ cho các bạn đang học tiếng Anh tại Cebu, Thành phố sẽ cắt mọi liên lạc như mạng, điện thoại...trong khi lễ hội được diễn ra.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: TRAFFIC RE-ROUTING PLAN DURING THE SOLEMN PROCESSION OF THE MIRACULOUS IMAGE OF SEÑOR STO. NIÑO JANUARY 14, 2017.

CCTO (known as CITOM) and Traffic Patrol Group, Cebu City Police Office, Cebu City, wish to announce and inform the riding public that vehicular traffic will be re-routed temporarily on the affected streets along the route of the solemn procession from Basilica del Sto. Niño, (along Osmeña Blvd.), proceed to Fuente Rotunda, right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., right turn to Imus New Road, left turn to M.J. Cuenco Ave., right turn to F. Urdaneta St. (near Toyota), left turn to P. Burgos St., right turn to Osmeña Blvd., and finally back to Basilica del Sto. Niño on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM until the activity is finished.

Clearing/Towing of vehicles and other obstruction along the procession route shall be done on January 14, 2017 at 6:00 A.M. up to 10:00 A.M. then follows the road closure.

A parking space for private vehicles for free is provided at SRP area near St. Pedro Calungsod Templete. PUJ’s are available to cater passengers going to and from Maritima Building across City Hall with a minimum fare.

TRAFFIC RE-ROUTING

1. Passenger jeep with Route Nos. 08G, 08F, 09A, 09B, 09G, 09H, 10G, 10K, and 11A together with passenger jeep coming from Alumnos while traversing along C. Padilla St., shall turn right to Panganiban St., right turn to Tupas St., right turn to T. Abella St., left turn to C. Padilla St., then to their usual route, then back to their point of origin.

2. Passenger jeep with Route No. 09C, 09F, 10C, 10D, 10F, 10O, and 11D while traversing along N. Bacalso St., shall turn right to Tres de Abril St., right turn Carlock St., right turn to C. Padilla St., right turn R. Padilla St., left turn N. Bacalso Ave., to their usual route, then to their point of origin.

3. Passenger jeep coming from Banawa and Guadalupe, passing V. Rama Ave., and Duterte St, shall follow M. Velez St., straight to Don Gil Garcia St., left turn to Don Jose Avila St., right turn to Osmeña Blvd., right turn to J. Llorente St., right turn to Don Mariano Cui St., to their usual route, then to their point of origin. While Route No. 06A shall turn right to Happy Valley, left turn to Duterte/Salvador St., left turn to Katipunan St., right turn to N. Bacalso Ave., right turn to SIT, left turn to Tres de Abril St., right turn to Salvador St., then to their point of origin.

4. Passenger jeep coming from Banawa, Capitol, Guadalupe, Oppra passing along Osmeña Blvd., shall follow N. Escario St., to Juana Osmeña St., right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to F. Ramos St., right turn to Junquera St., left turn to P. del Rosario St., left turn to D. Jakosalem St., left turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., right turn to Juana Osmeña St., left turn to Jose Avila St., right turn to Osmeña Blvd., to their usual route, then to their point of origin.

5. Passenger jeep coming from Lahug, Apas and Plaza Housing shall follow to Gorordo Ave., right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to F. Ramos St., to Junquera St., left turn to Colon St., left turn to D. Jakosalem St., left turn to Echavez Extn., right turn to F. Ramos St., right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., then back to their point of origin.

6. Passenger jeep coming from Talamban and Pit-os with Route No. 13B and 62C while traversing along Colon St. shall turn left to D. Jakosalem, then back to their point of origin. While PUJ with Route No. 13C while traversing along Sikatuna St., follow to Mabini St., shall turn right to Colon St., right turn to D. Jakosalem St., to their usual route, then back to their point of origin. PUJ with Route No. 62B while traversing along V. Gullas St. shall turn right to D. Jakosalem St., to their usual route, then back to their point of origin.

7. Passenger jeep coming from Mandaue and Mabolo including 03B passing M.J. Cuenco Ave., left turn to V. Sotto St., left turn to S. Osmeña Ave., left turn to Gen. Maxilom Extn., right turn to M.J. Cuenco Ave., to their usual route, then to their point of origin.

8. Passenger jeep coming from Urgello and USC Girls High (Private) may transport/cater passengers from port area and North Bus Terminal passing Serging Osmeña Blvd., right turn to Palma St., right turn to M.J. Cuenco Ave., right to V. Sotto St., to port area and vice versa.

9. Passenger jeep coming from Labangon with Route Nos. 12A, 12B, 12C, 12D, 12F and 12M shall follow to Tres de Abril St., right turn to Carlock St., left turn to B. Aranas St., right turn to Lakandula St., right turn to C. Padilla St., right turn to Carlock St., left turn to Tres de Abril St., left turn to N. Bacalso Ave, then to their point of origin.

10. Public Utility Vehicles such as Buses/Mini-buses, PUJ’s and V-Hires coming from the South shall follow N. Bacalso Ave., right turn to Mambaling Trunk Road going to SRP, then to the space provided as Temporary Terminal at SRP.

11. Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJ’s) with Route Nos. 41, 42, 43, 44 and 45 shall follow N. Bacalso Ave., proceed to the junction below the flyover and make a U-turn, back to their usual route, then to their point of origin.

12. Passenger jeep coming from the South going to SM shall follow F. Llamas St., right turn Katipunan St., left turn R. Duterte St., proceed to M. Velez St., left turn to N. Escario St., right turn to Gorordo Ave., left turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., left turn to A. Soriano Ave., then to their destination. In going back they shall follow A. Soriano Ave., right turn to Gen. Maxilom Ave., right turn to Gorordo Ave., left turn to N. Escario St., right turn to M. Velez St., proceed to R. Duterte St., then to their point of origin.

13. Trucks, Vans, Trailers and other motor vehicles coming from the South going to SM or to North Area shall follow South Road, right turn to Mambaling Trunk Road to SRP, left turn to SRP Coastal Road, passing the tunnel, to Serging Osmeña Blvd., then to the North Reclamation Area.

14. Trucks, Vans, Trailers and other motor vehicles coming from the North Reclamation Area going to the South are advised to pass along S. Osmeña Ave., passing through the tunnel, then to SRP, then to their point of destination.

15. All motor vehicles coming from Tabunok, Talisay, Minglanilla, Naga, San Fernando and Carcar who wishes to go the North Reclamation Area are advised to pass at SRP Coastal Road.

16. Private vehicles coming from the South going to Capitol, Lahug shall follow to N. Bacalso Ave., left turn to F. Llamas St., right turn to Katipunan St., left turn to Duterte St., then to their point of destination.

17. Private vehicles coming from the North going to Capitol/Uptown while traversing along M.J. Cuenco Ave, may turn right to Juan Luna Ave., left turn to Gorordo Ave., right turn to M. Gaisano St. or N. Escario St., then to their point of destination.

Motorist, Drivers and other road users are advised to observe and follow the traffic signs installed on the re-routing areas to minimize traffic congestion. Please be guided.

2017 SINULOG STREETDANCING PARADE ROUTE

Cebu Sinulog Grand Parade will start 9AM. From Imus Road to Gen. Maxilom Ave to Fuente Osmeña Circle, Osmeña Blvd and ends up at Cebu City Sports Center for the Ritual presentation.
